How to filter vehicle types for customers

Control which customers can see specific vehicle types in the admin center. Set access by customer type, include/exclude lists, or allow all

Updated over 5 months ago

You may want to hide certain vehicle types from specific customers or offer particular vehicle types exclusively to certain customers. There is a setting that allows you to manage this.

Please note that this filter will not be applied to the dispatcher panel. Any vehicle type can be configured for any customer.

To perform filtering, you first need to have a tag. If you don’t have one, please check this article to learn how to create and manage tags, then come back to this article.

In the settings of the vehicle types in the admin dashboard, the accessibility of the vehicle types can be managed by navigating to the path below.

Admin Center → Settings → Operation Setup → Vehicle types → Actions(Edit)

Customer type

This section defines which type(s) of customers this particular vehicle type is active for. For example, in the screenshot above, both customer types (Business and Individual) can view this vehicle type in the apps and select it when creating an order.

Include customer tag

This specifies which customers should have access to this vehicle type. Start by creating a tag if you don’t already have one, then assign it to the relevant customers. After that, select the appropriate tags from the list to include those customers.

Leaving this field empty will give access to all customers by default.

When you include customers, it means that this vehicle type is shown exclusively to those customers, while excluding others by default.

Exclude customer tag

This lets you exclude certain customers from accessing this vehicle type. Start by creating a tag if you don’t already have one, assign it to the customers you want to exclude from this vehicle type, and then select the tags from the list.

If you want all your customers to access this vehicle type, leave this box empty.
