What is the difference between zoning and pricing zones?

Manage two zone types in the Admin Dashboard: operational zones for geofencing and service areas, and pricing zones for rate configs.

Updated over a month ago

In the Admin Dashboard, there are two different menus for creating and managing zones. In this article, we will differentiate between these two.

Zoning

A Zone is a geographical area where your services are operational. You can have a single zone or divide your region into multiple parts. When you set the zone in the settings of the list below, you should specify the type of zone.

  • Team

  • Service

  • Vehicle Types

  • Dispatcher User

You can use this concept for having different settings in various areas. Geofencing is also handled by this concept, allowing you to assign a team of drivers to operate only within a specific zone. To manage or add zones, follow the path below:

Admin Center → Zoning

Please note that you cannot create an order if the pickup or dropoff address is not within a designated zone.

Pricing Zone

Pricing zones are used solely for configuring prices and nothing more. You can define them independently, and they are not related to the zoning concept explained above.

To configure pricing zones, follow the path below:

Admin Center → Pricing → Zone Base → Zoning
