How dispatching works for scheduled orders

Understand how the 'dispatch threshold' controls auto-dispatch timing for scheduled orders and how to configure it in the Admin Center.

Updated over 2 months ago

When an order is scheduled, and the assignment model of the corresponding service is set to auto, the order will not be dispatched immediately.

For instance, if an order is scheduled for tomorrow from 10:00 to 10:10, and you intend to initiate the dispatch process at 9:30, this is where the "dispatch threshold" setting becomes relevant.

Dispatch Threshold

The "dispatch threshold" is a time duration, measured in minutes, that is assigned to each service. It determines how long before the scheduled time an order should be out for dispatch.

To modify this setting, navigate to the following path.

Admin Center → Services → Edit

Example

For instance, if you wish to dispatch scheduled orders 30 minutes prior to their scheduled pickup time, and the time interval between steps in the schedule is 10 minutes, you should set the "dispatch threshold" to 40 in the service settings.

"Dispatch Later" Category

Within the dispatcher panel, there exists a category designated for orders scheduled for dispatch later in the day, yet whose dispatched times have not yet arrived. Refer to the screenshot provided below.

Once an order's dispatching process initiates, it will automatically transition to the “Dispatching” category.
