Business customers may occasionally forget their passwords or need to reset them for security reasons. To help them regain access quickly and securely, it's essential to have the password reset request feature enabled. In this article, we walk you through the steps to set up password reset requests for your business customers.
Business customers can request a password reset through both the customer app and the customer web portal. To do so, they can simply click on "Forgot your password?" and enter their registered email address or username.
Note: To send the password reset link through any selected channel, integration with a corresponding service provider is required.
Integrations
The password reset link will be sent to customers via SMS, Email and Push Notification channels, depending on your choice ( 1 channel is enough). To ensure this works correctly, you must first integrate with your corresponding service provider in Admin Center -> Integration. For detailed instructions, please refer to our SMS provider integration , Gmail integration.
Once your Email, Push Notification, or SMS provider is successfully integrated, you can proceed to create a password reset template.
Creating a Template for Password Reset Notification
To send a password reset link to business customers via your selected channel (Email, SMS or Push Notification) , you need to create and configure a communication template with the appropriate content and reset link. To learn more about how the communication works, please read this article.
This template works the same way for Email, SMS, and Push Notifications. In this guide, we use Email as an example, but the steps are the same for the other channels as well.
To do so, navigate to the following path:
Admin Center -> Communication -> Email (tab)
Then click on the New button to create a new email configuration.
In the opened window, provide the following information:
Name: You can choose any name for the template, but it's best to use a meaningful and relevant name that reflects its purpose (e.g., "Business customer password reset").
Section: Select Customers here.
Trigger: Set the trigger to send password reset URL.
Recipient: Choose Business Customer as the recipient.
Tags: Be sure to include the Password Reset URL tag in your message content. This tag will be replaced by the actual reset link generated by the server and sent to the customer.
Body: Write the content of your message here. Make sure it's clear and professional, and that it includes the Password Reset URL tag so the customer receives the actual reset link. You can also personalize the message with other available tags if needed.
Then click on submit, and you're all set.
