How to assign/offer an order to a driver

Learn how to manually dispatch orders via the dispatcher panel, either by offering to drivers or force-assigning them directly.

Sometimes, you may want to assign an order to a specific driver instead of letting it be accepted automatically by any available driver. In this article, we’ll guide you step by step on how to assign an order to the driver of your choice.

Offer an Existing Order to a Selected Driver

This way, you can offer the order to your selected driver and give them time to accept or reject it (The order is shown in the “For You” tab in the driver’s app).

To do so, proceed with the following steps in the dispatcher panel:

Dispatcher → Select an Order
  • Click the pencil button located at the top left corner of the order page.

  • Click on "Status and Driver."

For orders with a "Pending" status, first set dispatching to “Manual”. For orders with other statuses, you can skip this step.

  • As shown in the image below, choose the vehicle type and search for the driver using their code, name, family name, or phone number. Assign the order to the selected driver and click on “Save Changes”.

  • To offer the order to the chosen driver, allowing them to either accept or reject it, ensure that the order's “Current Status” is set to "Pending".

If the order status is anything other than Pending, it will be directly assigned to the driver. Only orders in Pending status would be offered to the driver.

Force-assign a Pre-existing Order

  1. To do so, proceed with the following steps in the dispatcher panel:

Dispatcher → Select an Order

2. Click the pencil button located at the top left corner of the order page.

3. To forcefully assign the order to the driver, change the order status to "Assigned," search for and select the driver, and then click "Save Changes" to apply the modifications and assign this order to your driver.

Offering an Order to a Driver When Creating a New Order

To create a new order, click the New button at the top-right corner of the Dispatcher panel. Fill in the order details (you can refer to this article if you’re not familiar with the process).

The important part is the Driver section. To offer the order to a specific driver, select Manual and search for the driver using their username, name, or phone number, and select the driver.

Force-assign During New Order Creation

The other details are the same as a pre-existing order. The only difference is that you need to click on the Force Assign option, which assigns the order directly to the driver. This way, the order appears immediately in the “Assigned” tab of the driver’s app.
