How to set commission-based earnings for drivers
Updated over 2 months ago

In this article, you will learn how to configure the driver’s commission percentage.

Before delving into the configuration process, it's important to understand the concept of the earning model.

Earning Model

When your drivers are not considered employees and are compensated based on their completed orders, it's necessary to establish an earning model for them.

Currently, there are two available earning models:

  1. Commission-based: Under this model, the driver's earnings are calculated as a percentage of the total order cost.

  2. Manual: This model employs a predefined amount for each completed order. The driver's earnings can be manually adjusted through the Dispatcher panel.

Configuring the Commission Percentage

To set the commission percentage, you'll need to modify or create the driver’s working type.

Admin Center → Navigate to Accounting → Select Working Type → Edit or Create New Record

For the "Commission-based" earning model, the commission coefficient should be configured to reflect your company's earnings.

Minimum driver balance: This field speifies the minimum balance that a driver must have in their wallet to receive an order. If we set this value to 10, it indicates that the driver's wallet balance must be more than 10.

Commission coefficient: This field sets the percentage of the company's commission (income). Only when the earning model is commission-based is this value provided. Examples of this work are provided below.

  • If the driver's earnings equal 80% of the order price. This field should be set to 0.2 (%20).

  • Order fee: $10

  • Commission coefficient: 0.2

  • Earnings of the driver: $8

  • Company commission (income): $2

You have the flexibility to establish various driver groups, each with its own commission percentage. All you need to do is define multiple working types and allocate them to the respective driver groups.
