Routes are one of the main components of the P&D order type structure. ONRO software optimizes routes to manage pickups and deliveries more quickly and efficiently. Drivers are assigned to routes to be responsible for the parcels in them and to follow the route's path to complete orders and finish routes.
There are several concepts about a route that we discuss here.
Creating a new route
Creating a new route in the P&D order type is explained in our other article.
Route optimization
One of the main features of a route is route optimization. This is how ONRO optimizes routes.
Editing route info
Each route in the P&D order type has a name, start location and optional end location. After the route is created, it can be edited through the Management Console:
Management Console → P_Hub_D → Routes tab → Select a route → Edit route info
In the opened window, you can change the info related to your route and hit submit to save the changes.
Keep in mind that if you change the start or end location of an optimized route, it will no longer be optimized.
Changing the status of a route
Routes can have four statuses:
Unassigned
Assigned
Started
Done
The status of a route can be updated as explained here.
Assigning a driver to a route
Take a look at our article to learn how to assign a driver to a route.

Adding orders to a route
You can add orders to a route from the Management Console. This shows you how.
Deleting orders from a route
When you want to delete an order from a route, it can be done through the following manual:
Changing the route of an order
You can change the route of an order by following the instructions here.
Scan to pickup
Drivers can scan the orders in their route when they arrive at the pickup location.
Here is how.
Inbound scanning
Drivers deliver the orders they pick up to the warehouse/hub. Operators at the hub scan orders to enter them into the hub. After inbound scanning, the order status is changed to “At warehouse.”
Here are more details about inbound scanning.
Scan to load
When drivers want to load the parcels and deliver them, they have the option to scan load deliveries before starting their route.
You can read how to give drivers this option here.
Completing a route
Each route is completed when all of the orders assigned to it are completed. Here is how it can be handled.
